A work Christmas booking usually starts with two numbers: how many people are coming and what the business will spend per head. On the Central Coast those two figures sort the venues quickly, because the rooms run from a 50-guest pub lounge to a function centre for 650, and most price their end-of-year packages per person.
Per-head packages are the easiest to budget. In Erina, Six String Brewing Co. starts share platters from $35 per person, with a Filipino feast from $45. Hotel Gosford's canapés begin from $43 per person and its shared set menus from $65, and Woodport Hotel catering runs from $45 per person once a group reaches 30. At Gosford Sailing Club, buffets start from $50, and Avoca Beach House prices shared tapas from $62 per person.
For a late-November or December date, ask about weeknights as well as Fridays. Ocean Beach Hotel in Umina Beach quotes its minimum spends from $500 for Monday to Thursday bookings, and Wyong Milk Factory Tavern starts room hire from $400.

Six String Brewing Co. seats 80 or holds 100 standing upstairs, Bay Road Brewing hires out its taproom for 100 standing, and the DO Room at Wyong Milk Factory Tavern takes 100 with its own bar and dance floor.
The Springs at Peats Ridge seats 180 in its ballroom, or 40 in a smaller private dining room, and The Valley Events Centre at Glenworth Valley runs work Christmas functions across two levels.
Woodport Hotel's Garden Bar sits beside the water in Erina, Gosford Sailing Club overlooks the Brisbane Water, and Avoca Beach House faces Avoca Beach.
