About Ettalong Diggers
Ettalong Diggers is the RSL club on The Esplanade at Ettalong Beach, sitting right on the waterfront with views across Broken Bay. It has run as a local club since 1950 and has three bars, a bistro and a full functions team. The club has nine function rooms. The Ettalong, Patonga, Seaview and Pearl Beach rooms each hold 150 to 200 standing guests, while the Ettalong Ballroom has its own permanent bar and takes 350 standing. The Seaview Ballroom holds 400 standing or 200 seated, and the Broken Bay Ballroom takes 500 standing or 330 seated. Out on the terrace, the open-air Pretty Beach Room suits up to 80 standing or 60 seated and looks straight over the beach. Catering covers hot finger food, canapés, platters, two- and three-course set menus served alternately, and two buffets. Dietary needs are marked on every menu, and children's menus are available for family events. Drinks run as timed packages at standard, premium or premium plus level, with a soft drink option as well. A cash bar or bar tab can be arranged instead, with bar staff charged separately. A stage, dance floor and smart whiteboard with TV can be hired, and Wi-Fi is available. Room hire assumes your group is taking catering and drinks, and a coordinator works through the plan with you once you send an enquiry.

What does room hire cost?
Room hire starts at $250 for the Ettalong, Patonga, Seaview and Pearl Beach rooms. The Pretty Beach Room is $300, the Ettalong and Seaview ballrooms are $500 and the Broken Bay Ballroom is $1,000. These rates assume your group orders catering and drinks; without them the hire fee may be higher.
What food packages are there?
Two-course set menus are $58 per person and three courses $68, with two choices per course served alternately. The Beach Buffet is $58 per person and the seafood-heavy Island Buffet is $90. For a cocktail-style party there is hot finger food from $12 per person, canapés at $4 each and substantial canapés at $10.90. Most menus are priced on a minimum of 20 or 25 adults.
Can we run a bar tab instead of a drinks package?
Yes. A cash bar or bar tab can replace a package, but bar staff are then charged for: $205 a bartender on weekdays, $233 on Saturdays and $268 on Sundays, covering a five-hour event.
Is there a stage and dance floor?
Both can be hired for $200 each, and a smart whiteboard with TV is $100. For larger audio-visual set-ups the club suggests an outside AV provider.
