Party Decorations Central Coast

Decorating a Central Coast party is mostly a question of look. Boho and rustic, bright balloons, soft lighting under canvas, or a lounge room turned into a camp-out – each points to a different decorator.

Balloons are the whole trade at Air Art Balloons. The Gosford studio, once The Total Party Shop, has more than 30 years on the coast and designs garlands, archways and columns for 18ths through to 50ths, baby showers, graduations and kids' parties, plus displays for shop launches and open days. Celebration Set Ups, from Tuggerah, leans boho: flower walls, arbours, lanterns, mirrors and chalkboards, with lawn games for an afternoon event. You can hand over the whole look or pick single pieces, priced in an online catalogue From $120, and its occasions run from hens parties and bridal showers to engagements and Christmas functions.

Matakata Hire & Events decorates on a bigger canvas. Based at Somersby, it pairs its sailcloth tents and Kata tipis with lighting and styling packages, and the furniture, lighting and styling can be hired on their own for a party. For younger guests, Teepeezzz from Umina Beach sets up themed sleepover teepees with fur rugs, battery lights and breakfast trays, From $200.

Matching the décor to the occasion:

• Milestone birthday or graduation – balloon columns and archways from Air Art Balloons
• Garden ceremony or bridal shower – arbours and flower walls from Celebration Set Ups
• Tented reception lit for the evening – Matakata Hire & Events
• Kids' sleepover party – Teepeezzz
