Photobooths have moved well past the curtained cubicle. Newcastle operators bring open-air booths that fit a whole group, mirror and kissing booths, 360 slow-motion video platforms and audio guest books, and most packages bundle unlimited prints with a gallery for afterwards. Starting prices run from $400 to $695, so compare what's included rather than the headline figure.
At the lower end, Level Up Booths from Bonnells Bay is run by Heidi and Joel, starting from $400 for an open-air booth with unlimited prints, a custom print design and a private online gallery; it also has a 360 video booth and a vintage audio guest book. Photobooths Newcastle, from $439, has the broadest range – open DSLR, mirror, kissing and 360 video – and can add slushy and popcorn machines on the same booking. Creative Booth, from $499, books for the full length of the event, as long as five hours.
Further up, SteelCityBooths' single package from $650 includes an attendant, a backdrop and props, with every photo also sent by text. Another Shot Photo Booth, from $695, was set up by a Newcastle wedding photographer: a retro open-air booth with studio flash, 2 x 6 inch strips and an edited gallery.
