Axe throwing has found a home in Pokolbin among the vineyards. Hunter Adventure Centre on Hermitage Road runs an eight-lane range, which means a decent-sized group can throw at the same time rather than waiting in a queue for one target.

Most groups come for more than the axes. The centre sets up competitions across archery and laser clay shooting as well, and it offers packages for hens, bucks and other parties, as well as work teams wanting a break from the meeting room. Guided off-road Segway rides are on the menu too, if part of the group would rather be moving.

The 4 Pines Brewery shares the site, which makes the post-throw debrief easy to arrange. Trail rides run from the same address as well, for anyone who wants to add time on horseback before or after.
