Otford Farm is a family-run horse riding farm at Otford, in Northern Wollongong beside the Royal National Park. It runs guided trail rides of one, two or three hours that head through rainforest, across creeks and up onto hilltops, so a group can pick a short taste of the trails or a longer ride.
The property covers more than 300 acres of farmland with over 30 horses, plus goats, sheep and chickens around the yards. Guided rides start from $140 per person. Alongside the trails, the farm offers private lessons and school holiday camps, and pony rides for children aged 8 and under, led by a parent in the farm yard.
That range makes it workable for quite different groups. A hens party or a 30th, 40th or 50th birthday can book a trail ride as the day's main event, while a family reunion or a children's party can put the older riders on the trails and the little ones on the ponies.
