About Kookaburra Room @ Avoca Beach Hotel
Avoca Beach Hotel is a family-owned pub and accommodation property on Avoca Drive in Avoca Beach, set into a bushland hillside across 15 acres. Alongside the Saltwater Bar & Bistro, a sports bar, Treetops Café and guest rooms, it runs several event spaces, and the Kookaburra Room is the largest of its private ones. The room has a high raked ceiling with exposed timber beams that can be dressed for themes, heritage styling and lots of daylight, with windows looking over the main pool and gardens. It holds up to 150 guests, and works as a long-table banquet with white linen, a dinner on round tables, a cocktail party or a theatre-style presentation. A data projector and screen come with the room, and it is air-conditioned. Smaller groups can use the Rosella Room, a hillside retreat for up to 40 with its own deck. Catering comes from the hotel kitchen. Cocktail events can be built around grazing boards of cured meats, cheeses and antipasto, plus platters of 30 matching pieces per tray, served by roaming staff or self-service. For end-of-year parties there is a two- or three-course Christmas set menu, with the room decorated in festive colours. A dedicated coordinator looks after weddings, private parties, corporate events and wakes. Parking is free, a courtesy bus is available if requested ahead, and guests can stay overnight in the hotel's rooms.
