DJ Hire in Newcastle

Choosing the Right DJ

Booking a DJ in Newcastle comes down to two questions: how much of the night you want them to run, and how far the music needs to stretch. A reception with a bridal entrance and speeches needs someone at ease on the microphone. A 21st or an end-of-year work party mostly needs a full dance floor and songs that suit every age in the room.

Avid Entertainment works out of North Lambton with open-format DJs, lighting and ceremony sound. Wedding packages start from $1,650, MC duties are an extra $500, there's no travel fee within half an hour of the CBD, and a briefed back-up DJ is on hand if yours falls ill. Mane Events, based at Redhead, has played 1500-plus weddings since 2012 and folds the ceremony, cocktail hour, speeches and dancing into a single booking, with club-style intelligent lighting as standard.

Radio All-Stars Entertainment, from Maryland, is led by Mike James, who doubles as the in-house DJ at a local commercial radio station. His team plays weddings, birthdays from 18ths to 50ths, school events and work parties, with a catalogue running from fifties rock and pub classics to house, Latin and Bollywood.
