About Royal Hotel Paddington

Royal Hotel Paddington has traded on the Five Ways corner of Glenmore Road since 1888. It is a multi-storey heritage pub with a sports bar on the ground floor, a veranda bar and dining room on the first floor, a private events level above that and a rooftop at the top. Oxford Street is about a minute away on foot, and the city is roughly ten minutes by car. The main private option is the Elephant Rooms on level two, made up of the Bengal Bar (25 seated, 40 cocktail) and the Colonial Club (50 seated, 60 cocktail). Together they hold 75 seated or 100 standing, with their own bar access, dedicated wait and bar staff, two 60-inch smart TVs and inputs for a band or DJ. Down on level one are four more areas: the semi-private High Room, which seats 30 or fits 40 standing; the Dining Room, with space for 44 at tables or 60 on their feet; the Fiveways Lounge, opening onto a wraparound balcony and holding 60 standing; and the Elephant Bar and Dining area under a retractable roof. The Rooftop takes 30 seated or 45 standing and looks out across the eastern suburbs to the skyline. Food runs from grazing stations at $35 and $60 per person, canapé packages at $44, $56 and $68 per person and a sit-down Royal Banquet at $95 per person, with sushi platters as an extra. Drinks packages are $50 or $65 per person for two hours and $75 or $90 for three, or you can set up a prepaid bar tab. Packages need 48 hours' notice and full prepayment, and minimum spends apply to the spaces.

Grazing stations cost $35 per person (antipasto) or $60 per person (antipasto with hot bites), for a minimum of 20 guests. Canapé packages are $44, $56 and $68 per person, and the three-course Royal Banquet is $95 per person for 10 or more. A 60-piece sushi tray is $300. A full-day corporate room hire with tea and coffee is $500 on weekdays. Minimum spends apply to the function spaces; ask the events team for the figure for your date.

Food

The head chef's function menus cover grazing stations with cured meats, cheeses and focaccia, canapé packages mixing small bites such as arancini, croquettes and tuna tartare with larger items like sliders and fish tacos, and a set banquet with shared entrées, mains, sides and dessert. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options are marked, and dietaries need to be advised at booking.

Beverages

The Premium package is $50 per person for two hours or $75 for three, and the Deluxe package is $65 or $90, covering sparkling, wine, tap beer and soft drinks. Prepaid bar tabs on consumption can include beer, wine, champagne, spirits and cocktails, or be limited to drinks you choose.
