Clear allBankstown holds most of the birthday choices in South West Sydney, with a rooftop bar, a City Plaza pub and a French Provincial ballroom within a few streets of each other. Belmore, east along Burwood Road, adds a family-run reception room, and Smithfield, out on The Horsley Drive, brings an Italian restaurant with private rooms and a local pub with a beer garden.
Most of the decision is about the style of party: grazing and cocktails for a 21st or 30th with friends, or a seated milestone with speeches and cake for a 50th or 60th where three generations share the room.

Candelori's and its bathrooms are wheelchair accessible, and The Clairemont has a three-level car park behind the building, both worth weighing when grandparents are on the guest list.

Lady Banks Rooftop takes functions from as few as 16 guests, and the private rooms at Candelori's suit family dinners for 10 or more. Bankstown Hotel also adapts its packages to a small private get-together.
Bankstown's pillar-free ballroom at The Clairemont fits up to 400, and Lady Banks Rooftop can stretch to 450. The Victorian @ Clarence House in Belmore tops out at 320.
The tavern's courtesy bus covers roughly 5km around Smithfield, and extra late runs can be organised for a special event night. Candelori's, also on The Horsley Drive, has free parking behind the building for the drivers.
Candelori's is not BYO, but it makes an exception for celebration cakes. The Clairemont and Clarence House both set up a cake table as part of the booking.
