About Tokar Estate
Tokar Estate is a family-owned and family-run winery on Maddens Lane in Coldstream, in the Yarra Valley. Its wines are grown, made and bottled on the estate, and the hospitality leans on the family's European roots. There are two main settings for events. The restaurant is the seated option, with a deck that looks over the vines to the mountain ranges, while the cellar door sits in a restored old family barn with a marble bar, open lawns, landscaped gardens and a 21-metre all-weather pergola strung with festoon lights. The restaurant takes up to 80 guests at the table or 100 for a cocktail-style function, and can be booked for exclusive use at lunch or in the evening, seven days a week. The cellar door and lawn suit bigger, more casual gatherings, holding up to 200 for a cocktail-style wedding, and a marquee can be added to the deck or the lawn. Function menus run to two or three courses, with canapés and welcome drinks on the deck as an extra. Lawn weddings are more flexible: couples can bring in a food truck or their own caterer, or more than one. Drinks centre on the Tokar Estate wines, with local beer, cider, cocktails and alcohol-free options. Groups can run a bar tab with a limit, pay as they go, or take a free-flowing package. Group functions have no set sitting time, so the afternoon belongs to the party. Weddings run for up to six hours, usually from 5pm to 11pm – send an enquiry with your date and numbers to book.

Pricing
Seated restaurant weddings start at $200 per person on weekdays and $210 per person on weekends, plus the $1,500 venue hire fee. Cellar door lawn weddings carry a $2,500 venue hire fee, and from October to March a drinks minimum spend of $5,000 Monday to Thursday or $8,500 Friday to Sunday applies.
Casual cellar door group gatherings have no venue hire fee, no minimum spend and no set packages.
Food
For cellar door gatherings there are antipasto and cheese platters, snacks and small hot plates, ordered ahead or on the day. Lawn weddings can bring in a food truck or caterer of their choice.
Beverages
For lawn weddings, the estate package is $85 per person and the premium package is $95 per person, each for five hours. The premium package lets couples bring basic spirits, which the bar staff serve with mixers.

Celebration cakes are welcome in the restaurant for a $5 per person cakeage fee, which covers cutting and plating. Dogs can't come into the restaurant but are welcome in the outdoor area at the cellar door.
