About Swallowfield Vineyards
Swallowfield Vineyards is a family-owned commercial vineyard and private estate on Swallowfield Road in Gembrook, running across 150 acres at the edge of the forest. The owners have lived locally for more than 30 years and keep the wedding calendar small so each couple gets close attention. The estate is hired exclusively, so the property belongs to one wedding on the day, with access to bump in during the week before. Across the grounds there are several vineyard blocks, open fields, a pine forest, two ornamental lakes, a lily pond, vintage sheds, lawns and gardens. Ceremonies are usually held on the lawn, beneath the family oak tree or in the pine forest, with wet-weather and small-group alternatives on site. Arbours, wine barrels and chairs come with the DIY package. Receptions run either outdoors on the lawn or inside the converted Stables, which hold 100 guests seated or 130 for a cocktail-style celebration. The double doors open to look across the valley and the horse paddocks, and an open log fire warms the room on cooler evenings. Everything is BYO, which is the point of the place. Couples bring their own caterers, alcohol and suppliers – food trucks, spit roasts, grazing tables, pizza vans and mobile bars all work here, with a fitted bar, commercial kitchen and refrigeration on site. Bands, acoustic acts and DJs are welcome and there is space for a dance floor. Viewings are by appointment, so send an enquiry to arrange a tour and check dates.

How many guests can Swallowfield Vineyards hold for a wedding?
The Stables seat 100 guests for a sit-down reception, or up to 130 for a cocktail-style celebration with canapés. Smaller midweek micro weddings are capped at 50 guests.
Can we use our own caterer and bring our own drinks?
Yes – the estate is fully BYO for both food and alcohol. You choose your own caterer, whether that is a food truck, spit roast, grazing table or pizza van, and use the on-site commercial kitchen, refrigeration and fitted bar.
What is included in the DIY hire package?
Basic tables and chairs, crockery, cutlery and a range of glassware are supplied, along with lawn and road signage. Ceremony arbours, wine barrels and chairs are also available to use in your set-up.
How long is wedding hire and is it exclusive?
A standard wedding hire covers 5 to 6 hours, plus time to bump in and out, and days and timings can be negotiated. The property is exclusive to your wedding, with access in the week beforehand to set up.
Is there a smaller midweek option?
Micro wedding packages run for 4 hours on Tuesdays throughout the year for up to 50 guests. They include access to the whole property for photos and use of the BYO-friendly kitchen and bar.
