About Fortnums
Fortnums is a family-run restaurant on Mount Dandenong Tourist Road in Sassafras, in the Dandenong Ranges. Its dining room is styled like an English conservatory, with tall arched windows, small chandeliers and plenty of natural light. Wedding receptions in the restaurant suit anywhere from 45 up to 100 people, and an outdoor deck looks out over the ranges. Ceremonies are held in the gardens under a white arch framed by tree ferns, usually from 4:30pm, and move indoors if the weather turns. The private Garden Room sits along a path through the garden. It is a light-filled space with garden views and is booked exclusively for daytime gatherings of between 15 and 30 people, such as birthdays, hens parties and elopement weddings. Function menus are built to suit the event, with sit-down meals, high teas and grazing tables on offer. Wedding packages can include a four-course meal, a cocktail or grazing reception, or a buffet high tea, with soft drinks, tea and coffee. Everything is cooked on site from local produce, and vegetarian, gluten-free and other dietary needs are catered for. The room can be styled to match your colours, with linen napkins, organza runners and fresh flowers. In July and December the restaurant is decorated for Christmas, and festive lunches, evening celebrations and private events are taken.
