About The Iron Yampi

The Iron Yampi is a modern Australian restaurant and wine bar at 96-106 Wentworth Street in Port Kembla. It cooks with produce from nearby growers and makers, keeps a bottle list of more than 80 Australian wines, and mixes its own cocktails at a long bar under pendant lights. The venue grows with your guest list. The covered beer garden out the back is the main function space and takes around 35 to 50 standing. Adding the bottom room brings in cover for bad weather and space for up to about 60, and the main dining room joins in for groups over that, with the entire venue holding up to 100. Taking the beer garden and bottom room exclusively requires a group of at least 40, and the main room is offered to groups of 80 or more. There is no room hire fee for any of it. Standing functions run on grazing menus: an antipasto starter and then four or five dishes such as arancini, skewers, squid, sliders and prawn toast, from $35, $42 or $49 per person. Seated groups choose an alternate-drop menu of one, two or three courses at $42, $55 or $67 per person, or a five- or seven-course feed me menu with an optional wine pairing. Most dietary needs can be met with notice. For drinks, hosts can run a limited bar tab or let guests buy their own. The best first step is to email the team and book a time to talk through your plans.
