About Lu Mare
Lu Mare is an Italian restaurant at 3/9 Wilson Street in Wollongong, facing Osborne Park and Wollongong Harbour. Its kitchen cooks coastal and countryside Italian dishes from seasonal, local produce, designed to be shared across the table, and the wine list is entirely Italian. There are three areas to work with. The restaurant itself seats up to 60, or holds about 80 for a standing event, and every table inside has a view of the water; a section of it can be set aside for around 30. The open-air courtyard takes about 30 seated or 60 standing, and the function room fits up to 32 seated or 50 standing. Groups can choose a long table, a private section, one of the separate spaces or a takeover of the whole venue. Courtyard events need the function room held as a wet-weather backup, which carries a $300 hire fee. The team hosts milestone birthdays, bridal showers, engagement parties, intimate wedding dinners and corporate gatherings. Groups of eight or more adults choose between two set menus, priced at $67 and $80 per person, and canapé, cocktail and drinks packages are discussed once an enquiry comes in. The restaurant also works with local stylists, florists, cake makers and balloon suppliers if you want the room dressed. It is fully licensed with no BYO alcohol, though you can bring a celebration cake for a small cakeage charge.
