Bathers' Pavilion sits on The Esplanade at Balmoral Beach in Mosman, in a restored 1920s building that houses a fine-dining restaurant, a more casual bistro, a Thai restaurant called Betel Leaf and a takeaway kiosk. The Good Room is the private dining space attached to the main restaurant, where executive chef Aaron Ward runs the kitchen. The room seats up to 16 guests around a single table, or up to 22 when the group is split across two tables. Glass runs from floor to ceiling, so the view takes in Balmoral Beach and out towards Sydney Heads, and the fit-out matches the restaurant's nautical style, with timber, leather chairs and framed artwork. The restaurant itself has an open kitchen and a lounge area, and a wine list of around 350 bottles. It suits a birthday dinner, an anniversary, an engagement lunch or a small work dinner where the food is the focus. Groups order from the three-course à la carte menu at $125 per person, or the signature tasting menu at $195 per person. Drinks are charged on consumption. There is no room hire fee, but a minimum spend applies, and a 10% service charge is added to the bill, rising to 15% on Sundays and public holidays. Lunch bookings start from 11:45am and dinner from 5:45pm. For larger parties, the building also has first-floor spaces for bigger events.
