About Jonah's
Jonah's is a restaurant and boutique hotel on Bynya Road, perched on the cliffs above Whale Beach and a short drive from Palm Beach village. It began as a roadhouse in 1929 and now combines a fine dining room, a bar, a clifftop terrace and garden, and a handful of ocean-facing hotel rooms. The restaurant and hotel open Thursday to Sunday, and events are held on those days. For a big celebration, you can take over the whole place, meaning dining room, bar, terrace and clifftop gardens, for up to 122 guests. The dining room has floor-to-ceiling glass and every table faces the ocean. The bar occupies the original 1929 dining room and has an open fireplace, while the terrace hangs over the beach for drinks before or after dinner. Smaller groups of 11 to 20 can book the restaurant with a three-course group menu, and the inner terrace seats up to 14 at one table. Function menus run from two or three course alternate or choice service to a degustation or a cocktail-style event, with canapés available for 30 to 90 minutes before a meal. Upgrades include charcuterie and cheese stations, an oyster bar and seafood stations. Beverage packages come in four tiers, or drinks can go on a bar tab you pre-pay. Guests who want to stay over can book the ocean-view rooms, and the events team supplies a detailed checklist covering timings, speeches, styling, music and suppliers.

How many guests can Jonah's host?
Up to 122 guests when you book the dining room, bar, terrace and clifftop gardens exclusively. Group dining in the restaurant without exclusive use is available for up to 30.
What does a group booking cost?
For 11 to 20 guests there is a three-course group menu at $155 per person, with three options per course chosen by the chef and bread included. Drinks and sides are charged on consumption, a 7% gratuity is added, and surcharges apply on Sundays and public holidays.
Can we bring our own wine or cake?
BYO wine is not allowed. You can bring a celebration cake: in the restaurant it is cut and served with berry coulis and Chantilly cream for $5.50 per person, and at a function it can be plated as dessert for $10 per person.
What drinks options are there for events?
Choose from Standard, Premium, Deluxe or Prestige beverage packages, or drinks on consumption with a pre-paid bar tab, where a budget of at least $85 per person is suggested. Cocktails on arrival can be added from $20 per person.
Can guests stay overnight?
Yes. Jonah's has boutique hotel rooms with ocean views, and for exclusive-use dinner events the rooms in the main building need to be booked as part of the event.
