About Royal Motor Yacht Club Broken Bay
Royal Motor Yacht Club Broken Bay sits on Prince Alfred Parade in Newport, looking over the marina and across Pittwater to Scotland Island. The club dates back to 1926 and hosts weddings, corporate events, engagement parties and milestone celebrations. The Top Deck is the main function room, on the second level with uninterrupted water views. It seats 200, holds 300 for a cocktail party, or 150 with a dance floor in place. There are smaller options too. Allure 180 holds 100 standing, the Lounge Bar and Compass Terrace each take 150 for cocktails, Mariners Bar suits 45, and the Boardroom has its own balcony and bar for up to 70. The kitchen offers canapé packages, alternate-drop plated menus, family-style sharing feasts and a pizza package for the casual terrace spaces. Platters for grazing and morning tea can be added, and dietary needs are handled with notice. Drinks run on Gold or Platinum packages for three or four hours, with cocktail and spirit upgrades available. Outside food and drinks aren't allowed without approval. Events are based on four hours, with room hire confirmed in your proposal. Most spaces have private music, a private bar, a microphone and a TV, and the club has tiered parking. How many guests can the club hold?
The Top Deck seats 200 and takes 300 for a cocktail event, or 150 with a dance floor. Smaller rooms range from a 20-seat private dining room to terraces for 150.
What do function menus cost?
Canapé packages start at $45 per person for six items, or $65 for nine. Plated menus are $95 per person for two courses and $115 for three, family-style sharing is $125 per person, and the pizza package is $55 per person.
What drinks packages are there?
The Gold package is $50 per person for three hours or $65 for four. The Platinum package is $80 for three hours or $95 for four, and cocktails or house spirits can be added.
Can we bring our own caterer?
No. Catering comes from the club kitchen, and outside food or drinks need the function coordinator's approval.
How do bookings and deposits work?
A $500 security deposit, credited to your final account, confirms a tentative booking within 14 days. Final numbers are due seven days before, and Sundays and public holidays carry a surcharge.
