About Lively Catch
Lively Catch is a seafood restaurant at 34-36 President Avenue in Caringbah, about five minutes on foot from the station. Owner and chef Jeremy Luo opened it in 1995, and the kitchen serves a contemporary Australian menu built mostly around seafood, with steak, duck and lamb for those who'd rather skip the fish. The dining room is dressed in warm tones, with upholstered banquettes, white linen and intimate lighting. The restaurant takes birthdays, weddings, corporate parties and other group bookings, with functions for 50 to 100 people held in the dining room itself. Tables can be set as long banquets or kept as separate round and square settings, and the room has been decorated with balloons and flowers for celebrations. Opening hours are dinner from Tuesday to Saturday and lunch on Sunday, so function times follow the same pattern. Food is served from a party menu for groups of ten or more. You choose four entrees, four mains and four desserts beforehand, and each guest orders from that shortlist on the day. Garlic bread comes first, and the options include Sydney rock oysters, seared scallops, salmon sashimi, barramundi, duck breast, lamb backstrap, eye fillet and half a lobster mornay, with surcharges on a few premium dishes. Wine can be ordered from the list, which runs from Australian sparkling to French champagne, or you can bring your own bottled wine for a corkage fee. Cakes are welcome for a small per-person charge, the bill isn't split, and card payments carry a 1% surcharge.
