Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club is the volunteer surf club on Surfview Road, sitting on the sand at Mona Vale Beach beside the ocean pool. Its upstairs clubhouse is hired out for private events, from engagement parties and weddings to milestone birthdays, wakes, conferences and work Christmas parties. The club asks that birthday bookings be for people 25 and over. There are two spaces. The Ocean Pool Room is the larger, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open onto a private covered balcony over the beach. It holds 200 for a cocktail party, 100 seated or 120 in theatre rows, and has ducted heating and cooling. Next door, the Cook Terrace Bar has its own bar and a wraparound covered balcony, and suits 80 standing or 40 seated. Booked together as full venue hire, the two rooms give you the whole upper floor, with Cook Terrace doubling as a pre-drinks area or wet weather ceremony spot. Both rooms have lift access and are wheelchair and pram friendly. The hire fee covers exclusive use of your space, the balconies, a sound system with two cordless microphones, a screen with HDMI input, a TV, lounges, bar tables and stools, banquet tables and up to 100 padded chairs. Catering comes from Basin Dining, the restaurant downstairs, or from an outside caterer the club approves, while all drinks are served by the licensed club bar. Music, including live bands, is allowed with approval, and the balcony doors close at 10pm.
