About Bass & Flinders Pavilion
Bass & Flinders Pavilion sits on the water at Sans Souci Wharf, next to the Sans Souci Leisure Centre and close to the Captain Cook Bridge and Rocky Point Road. It is run by Bass & Flinders Cruises, a family business that has operated on the Georges River for around 40 years, and it doubles as a daytime café and restaurant from Wednesday to Sunday. The pavilion is one open room with tall ceilings and glass from floor to ceiling, so the river and the sunsets are visible from anywhere inside. A deck runs all the way around the building for drinks, photos and fresh air. Numbers depend on the format: canapé events take up to 150 guests, while seated dinners and buffets suit up to 120. Minimum numbers of around 60 apply to the event packages, and free accessible parking sits directly in front with no time limit. Functions are built around three catering styles: a seated menu with a choice of two three-course options, a banquet with roving entrée followed by a seated main and dessert, or a canapé service mixing standard and substantial items. Drinks are sold as Standard, Deluxe or Premium packages, the last adding spirits to beer, wine and soft drinks. Venue hire covers four hours plus an hour each side to set up and pack down, along with the licensed bar, in-house furniture, sound and audiovisual gear and service staff. Extras include a cocktail hour, an oyster and prawn station, grazing boards and a private charter cruise before or after the event.
