About South Sydney Graphic Arts Club
South Sydney Graphic Arts Club, often called the GAC, is a members club at 182 Coward Street in Mascot. It has a lounge and bar, a restaurant serving lunch and dinner every day, an outdoor terrace and a deck, and the club points out that it is roughly 15 minutes from Central by train. There are four ways to set up a function. The West Deck takes about 15 to 30 guests (up to 40 standing for a birthday), the Garden Terrace suits 35 to 50, the Restaurant seats 75 to 120, and combining the Restaurant with the Terrace gives room for 100 to 170. Booking the restaurant and terrace exclusively closes those areas to members for the duration of your event. None of the function spaces carries a separate room hire charge, although conditions apply, and the West Deck asks for a $200 food or drink spend. Food comes from the club's own kitchen; self-catering is not allowed, though the chef can cost a custom menu. Options run from a $47.50 per person stand-up cocktail menu to sit-down set menus at $67.50 and $77.50 per person, with breakfast functions too. Drinks can be a three-hour package at $45 or $55 per person, a bar tab with a limit you set, or drinks on consumption. Functions run for four hours, with lunch slots from 11am and dinner from 5:30pm. Your own decorations, flowers and music are welcome, and a DJ can be booked.
