About Toronto Workers Club
Toronto Workers Club sits at 9 James Street in Toronto, on the western side of Lake Macquarie, within walking distance of the town centre and with plenty of off-street parking. Alongside its bars, Indulge Dining restaurant and cafe, the club runs a functions offer for celebrations, work events and wakes, with hire areas in several parts of the building. The main space is the Function Room, which holds 140 people standing, 80 seated at tables of ten or 96 at tables of twelve, and can also be set up theatre, classroom, U-shape or boardroom style for conferences. A microphone, TV, lectern and whiteboard come at no charge, and hosts may bring their own entertainment there with management's approval. For something smaller, the Amethyst Area takes 40 or 60 guests from Monday to Thursday, the Main Lounge area takes 50, and the RISE bar can be hired in sections for 20, 40 or 60 adults, with its outdoor area included free. Food comes from the club's own kitchen. The Function Room offers alternate-drop sit-down menus of two or three courses, with gluten-free and vegetarian or vegan options, while every area can order platters such as antipasto, sliders, skewers, fried seafood and dessert, laid out buffet style or carried around by wait staff for an added fee. Drinks run on a tab of a nominated amount or guests pay their own way, and the Function Room bar can be reserved for your group with its own staff member. Bookings run four hours with an 11pm latest finish.

How many guests does the Function Room hold?
It takes 140 standing, 80 seated at tables of ten, or 96 seated at tables of twelve. Smaller areas are also available: the Main Lounge for 50, the Amethyst Area for 40 or 60, and sections of the RISE bar for 20 to 60.
What does a sit-down function cost?
A plated two-course menu is $60 per person and three courses are $75 per person, with room hire, tablecloths and a dinner roll included. These menus are for the Function Room with at least 40 guests.
Can we bring our own food or drinks?
No outside food or alcohol is allowed under the club's licence, but you can bring a celebration cake and the club will store it and supply cutlery and napkins.
Does the club host 18th and 21st birthdays?
The club does not take 18th birthday parties. A 21st can be held with one security guard per 50 guests for the length of the party, paid for by the host before the booking is secured.
What deposit is needed and how long can we stay?
Sit-down functions need a $500 deposit and other functions $300, which comes off the final bill. Hire is for four hours with 11pm as the latest finish, and December bookings also carry a refundable $250 bond.
