About Lake View Room @ Gunyah Hotel
The Gunyah Hotel is a pub and bistro on the Pacific Highway in Belmont, set on the shore of Lake Macquarie and looking over Belmont Bay. It runs two private function spaces, and the Lake View Room is the one upstairs. The room is bright and sunny, with bi-fold windows along the lake side. It has its own bar, a dance floor for live entertainment and a private smokers' deck, plus its own bathrooms. For a sit-down meal it seats up to 100 guests, and for a cocktail party it takes up to 160. Functions here start at 40 guests, and a minimum spend applies that varies with the day, time and season. The pub kitchen covers several styles of function food. Choose canapés in three sizes, a shared buffet with two roast meats and three sides, a two- or three-course plated menu, a high tea, grazing tables or platters served for ten. Drinks run on house or party packages for three, four or five hours, with sparkling, white and red wine, tap beer and soft drinks. No outside drinks are allowed, though you can bring a celebration cake and the staff will store and serve it. The room has a PA microphone, surround speakers and a music connection for your own playlist, and a projector can be hired. A $500 deposit secures the date, and eight hotel rooms on site suit guests who would rather stay the night.

Are drinks packages available?
Yes. The house package is $50 per person for three hours, $58 for four and $66 for five. The party package adds more wine choices and a craft beer, at $55 per person for three hours, $64 for four and $73 for five. Guests cannot bring their own drinks, under the hotel's liquor licence.
Can we hold an 18th or 21st here?
Yes, the Gunyah hosts 18th and 21st birthday parties. The host pays for one security guard per 50 guests for the length of the party, and that fee is due two weeks before the event.
What AV and music options does the room have?
The Lake View Room has a PA microphone, surround sound speakers and a music connection for streaming your own playlist, at no charge. A projector can be added for $150. You can bring your own entertainment once management approves it, and the venue sets the volume.
