About Madison Kitchen + Bar
Madison Kitchen + Bar is the restaurant inside Mercure Charlestown, a 53-room boutique hotel on Madison Drive set among quiet bushland. It trades daily for breakfast and from Monday to Saturday for dinner, and it also runs private functions for groups. The dining room is light-filled, with its own air conditioning controls and bifold doors along one side. It fits up to 50 guests for a seated dinner or a cocktail reception. Fold the doors back and the room flows onto the north-east facing deck, lifting the total to 90 guests. The deck on its own takes 40, and it is covered, with outdoor heaters and screens for sun or wet weather, plus views over the hotel pool towards the distant coastline. The kitchen, led by Executive Chef Rahoul Kirtickar, cooks modern Australian food with flavours borrowed from around the world. Menus are tailored for each function, and the team is well practised with coeliac, gluten free and other dietary needs. The set function offer is a two-hour high tea with sparkling wine on arrival, bottomless tea and a seasonal spread of sweet and savoury bites. It suits birthdays, baby showers and catch-ups, and can be held in the dining room, the smaller function room or on the deck. The restaurant can be booked for daytime events between 10:30am and 4pm, with the deck included, while evening hire runs on a minimum food and beverage spend. Guests who want to stay the night can book rooms in the hotel upstairs.
