About The Bennett
The Bennett is a neighbourhood pub on Denison Street in Hamilton, open seven days for lunch and dinner and known locally for its courtyard. It has a dedicated function manager and a head chef who writes the function menus, and it takes group bookings across three areas with no venue hire fee. The lower courtyard is the largest area, fitting about 80 people among white picnic tables, olive trees and umbrellas, with an awning over the lower section and outdoor heaters for cooler nights. Exclusive use of the lower courtyard needs around 60 guests, and on Friday and Saturday nights it carries a minimum spend. Within the courtyard, a covered gazebo suits 25, while the indoor dining room seats 35 in a quieter, more polished setting. Only one area is booked per function. Food comes as shared platters or a plated menu. Platters cover cheese and charcuterie boards, pies and sausage rolls, sandwiches, fish and chips and hot items such as arancini, chicken wings, tacos and sliders. The alternate-drop menu serves two or three courses with dishes like snapper crudo, braised beef cheek and barramundi. Three-hour drinks packages cover beer, wine and soft drinks, or you can run a bar tab. Your own musician or DJ is welcome with the venue's approval, and birthday cakes can be stored in the cool room. Speeches are not possible as the areas are not fully private.
