About Windy Hill
Windy Hill is the social venue attached to the home ground of the Essendon Football Club, where Napier Street meets Brewster Street in Essendon. Alongside its bistro, lounge bar and TAB, it runs three function rooms with a dedicated functions team, and both members and non-members can book them. Non-members sign in with photo ID. The Premiers Room holds the most guests, an event space with views over the city that takes 250 standing or 160 seated, and it is the room used for weddings. The Hi Marque Room looks over the oval toward the city, has its own private bar and suits cocktail events for up to 90. The Barry Capuano Room, named after the Essendon premiership player, holds up to 50, has its own bar, is lined with club memorabilia and has its own menu. A lift serves every floor and each floor has toilets. The venue is the sole caterer. Cocktail packages start at $33 per person for five items plus a substantial canapé, two-course seated menus are $59 per person and three courses $70, and a high tea runs from $39 per person. Drinks packages cost $33 per person for two hours up to $46 for five, or you can run a bar tab or a cash bar. Minimum catering spends apply in each room, starting at $2,250 for the Barry Capuano Room, and a room hire fee of $250 for non-members secures the booking. Staff can arrange balloons, linen, flowers, a DJ or a jukebox, and only one celebration cake may be brought in.

Do I need to be a member to book a function?
No. Non-members can book any of the three rooms; the room hire fee is $250 for non-members and $150 for members, and non-member guests sign in with photo ID.
How many guests do the rooms hold?
The Premiers Room takes 250 standing or 160 seated, the Hi Marque Room takes 90 standing and the Barry Capuano Room takes 50 standing.
What are the minimum spends?
Minimum catering spends start at $2,250 in the Barry Capuano Room, $2,310 for a standard cocktail package in the Hi Marque Room and $2,970 in the Premiers Room. Sundays and public holidays carry a 15% surcharge.
What drinks options are there?
Drinks packages run from $33 per person for two hours to $46 per person for five, with beer, wine, sparkling and soft drinks. You can also set up a bar tab or let guests buy their own.
Can we bring our own food or a DJ?
The venue does all the catering, and only one celebration cake can be brought in. Staff can recommend a DJ, with prices starting at $850 for five hours, or arrange a jukebox.
