About Doutta Galla Hotel
The Doutta Galla Hotel, known to locals as The Doot, has traded from its Racecourse Road corner in Kensington, at Eastwood Street, since 1889. Newmarket Station sits across the road and the route 57 tram stops at the door. The pub spreads its function areas over three levels. On the ground floor, the Gala Room takes 35 standing or 25 seated, and the Liar's Club is an intimate wine-lined dining room seating 20. Upstairs, the Thomas Miller Room holds up to 80 for cocktails or 60 seated, the Grandstand takes 70 to 80 standing, and the Winners Circle suits 60 standing or 40 at tables. Whole floors can be booked exclusively with their own bar, and Level 1 takes 250 to 280 cocktail guests. Food starts with canapé packs of five, seven or nine pieces, with substantial items, dessert canapés, charcuterie grazing and a pizza package to add. Seated groups choose a shared two- or three-course menu, or a four-course chef's table menu. Drinks run as standard, premium or deluxe packages of two to four hours, and the venue also offers bar tabs and cash bars. A spirits upgrade, a cocktail on arrival and cocktail stations are available on top. Functions run seven days a week, and every room has AV for speeches or presentations.
