About The Laurel Hotel
The Laurel Hotel is a pub at 289 Mt Alexander Road, Ascot Vale, with a public bar, a dining room and a functions team that handles everything from big birthdays and engagements to Christmas parties, corporate lunches, christenings and wakes. There is parking on site as well as on the surrounding streets, and public transport is close by. Level 1 is the main party room: a large open space upstairs with its own adjoining bar, TV screens and a sound system, with space for 60 at tables or 100 on their feet. It is reached by stairs only, so groups needing step-free access are steered to the ground floor. Downstairs, the dining room has exposed brick, high ceilings and an open fire, and it can be booked exclusively for up to 200 standing guests, which makes it the pick for larger cocktail parties, gala-style dinners or a work Christmas function. Neither space attracts a hire fee, though a minimum spend can apply depending on the booking. Food is handled through canapé packages, starting at $38 per person for four pieces and a mini meal and rising to eight pieces plus a mini meal, or The Laurel Feast, a seated meal of shared entrées and a choice of main at $82 per person. Woodfired pizzas can be added, and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets are catered for. Drinks can run on a three- or four-hour package, a bar tab with a set limit, pay-as-you-go service or a cocktail on arrival. You are welcome to bring a cake, decorations and your own DJ or musician; 18ths and 21sts are hosted with security charged to the client.

Do you host 18th and 21st birthdays?
Yes. Two security guards are needed for the first 100 guests and one more for every additional 100, with the cost passed on to the client.
