Steak Ministry Bar & Grill is a steakhouse in the Ikon Centre at 39-51 Kingsway, Glen Waverley, close to Glen Waverley station. The dining room is dark and moody, with timber panelling, leather banquettes, black pendant lights and shelves of wine behind the bar. The kitchen focuses on Australian beef, from grass-fed cuts to F1 Sher Wagyu cooked over the grill, alongside seafood, slow-cooked ribs and seasonal sides. For celebrations the restaurant works at two scales. Groups of 8 to 30 can book a set-menu dinner with their own service team, which suits birthdays, anniversaries and catch-ups. For bigger occasions you can hire part of the restaurant or the whole venue, which holds up to 120 guests and can be laid out for a seated dinner or a standing cocktail reception. Full hire is offered for weddings, milestone birthdays, brand launches, gala dinners and end-of-year parties. The functions team helps plan the layout, timing, decorations and audio-visual setup, and site inspections can be arranged by appointment. There are two function menus. The two-course package is $94 per person for an entrée and a main, and the four-course package is $105 per person, adding a Wagyu pastrami appetiser and a dessert. Guests each choose an entrée such as oysters, scallops, calamari, sticky lamb ribs or Wagyu tacos, then a main from grass-fed steaks, smoked pork ribs, lamb loin, market fish or a vegetarian dish, with chips and garden salad for the table. Upgrading the steaks to Sher Wagyu adds $25 per person.
