About Shoppingtown Hotel

The Shoppingtown Hotel sits on Williamsons Road in Doncaster, across the road from the shopping precinct. The building steps down over several levels, which gives its bistro, deck and beer garden a long view back towards the Melbourne CBD skyline. As well as the bistro and sports bar, the hotel runs a dedicated functions team and keeps a handful of guest rooms upstairs. There are five spaces to choose from. The Galaxy Room on the first floor is the main party room: it has its own bar and bathrooms, a large outdoor courtyard, a separate entrance, dance floor lighting, a sound system and a data projector, and it suits stand-up events of up to 120. The Garden Bar is a weather-protected, semi-private area with a private bar, festoon lighting, a big screen and Bluetooth speakers, taking up to 120 guests and available every day except Friday nights. For big events the Cabaret Room adds a stage and dance floor, a pair of projection screens, its own bars and a cloak room, while the air-conditioned Skyline Room off the bistro handles small lunches, dinners and meetings. Canapé packages start at $29 per person for four classic items, with a $38 option adding more choice. Seated groups can choose a two- or three-course alternate drop, a carvery buffet or a BBQ package, and extra platters such as sushi, antipasto and sliders can be added. Galaxy Room and Garden Bar packages bundle five hours of exclusive use with canapé platters and a starting bar tab, and a digital drinks package covers tap beer, wine and soft drinks for three or four hours.

Canapé packages are $29 per person for four classic items or $38 per person for six classic items and one gourmet item, with a minimum of 30 guests. Galaxy Room packages are $2,000 (up to 50 guests), $2,600 (up to 70) and $3,100 (up to 100), each including five hours of exclusive use, platters and a bar tab. Garden Bar packages are $2,500, $3,100 and $3,800 for 60, 80 and 120 guests. The Cabaret Room is $1,000 room hire for five hours and the Skyline Room is $300 room hire.

Food

Classic canapés include arancini, mini pies, samosas and chicken skewers, with gourmet additions such as sliders, karaage chicken and calamari. Set menus are $49 per person for two courses or $59 per person for three courses, served alternately, and a carvery buffet is $59 per person. A BBQ package is $49 per person for groups of 50 or more, and extra platters range from $65 to $130.

Beverages

A digital beverage package is $55 per person for three hours or $65 per person for four hours, covering tap beers, wines and soft drinks. Galaxy Room and Garden Bar packages include a starting bar tab of $200 to $500, and beverage arrangements can otherwise be tailored with the functions team.
