About The Manhattan Ballroom @ Plaza Tavern
Plaza Tavern is a large modern pub on the corner of Heaths and Derrimut Roads in Hoppers Crossing, with a bistro, public bar, sports bar and a set of function rooms run by a dedicated coordinator. The Manhattan Ballroom takes the most guests, with elevated ceilings, formal décor and a long cocktail bar of its own, and free parking is on site. The ballroom seats about 200 to 300 guests for a dinner, takes 300 to 350 for a cocktail party and fits up to 500 in theatre rows, with a cabaret setting for 200. It is used for wedding receptions, engagements, milestone birthdays, Christmas staff parties and corporate events, and the functions coordinator can help with entertainment, decorations and theming. Smaller groups can look at the Verve Lounge, a sleek room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a private balcony for up to 80 standing, while the Avenue, with an outdoor terrace and bar, takes large cocktail crowds. For daytime business events the venue supplies a data projector and screen, Bluetooth connectivity and wifi. Food is prepared by the tavern's kitchen. Canapé packages start at $29 per person for six options and run to $59 for twelve, with substantial items at $8 a piece and grazing stations in savoury, seafood and sweet versions. Seated groups can choose a Pub Classic set menu at $49 per person for two courses or $59 for three, a Pub Favourites menu from $59, or a buffet at $49 per person. Extras include a digital photo booth for $400, table centrepieces and cake cutting, and you can bring your own decorations with the events manager's approval.
