About Republic Tavern
Republic Tavern is a brewpub on Cooper Street in Epping, home to the Beer Republic brewery and a small distillery that both sit inside the venue. The bar pours the house small-batch beers alongside guest taps from local craft brewers and cider makers, and the room mixes timber, leather booths and the gleam of the brewing tanks. There are three function areas. The Sun Room is a bright indoor space with an outdoor feel, holding 100 guests for a canapé-style party or 45 seated; it is semi-private, so you have your own area while still enjoying the atmosphere of the pub. The Cellar is tucked among the distillery and a wall of bottles, seating 16 for a dinner or taking 40 standing. The Hop Garden opens in good weather, with picnic tables, festoon lighting and outdoor heaters for 35 seated or 45 standing, and you can plug in your own playlist. For bigger groups the whole tavern can be booked exclusively. Food comes from the tavern's kitchen, with function menu items set out in the function pack, and drinks are drawn from the house brewery and distillery as well as the main bar. The functions team handles enquiries by phone, email or the online form.

Which space suits a birthday party?
The Sun Room has the most room, taking 100 guests for canapés or 45 seated. Smaller groups can use the Cellar (16 seated, 40 standing) or, in fine weather, the Hop Garden (35 seated, 45 standing).
Are the function spaces private?
The Sun Room is semi-private – your own area within the venue rather than a closed room. For a fully private event you can book the whole tavern exclusively.
Can we play our own music?
In the Hop Garden you can plug in and play your own music. Talk to the functions team about music in the other spaces.
Is the Hop Garden available in winter?
It opens when the weather is good. It has outdoor heaters and festoon lighting, but it is an open-air space, so check with the team when you book.
