Naught Distilling makes its own gin at 2/32 Peel Street in Eltham, and the distillery now operates as a private function and event venue. The building holds three event spaces, the still itself and a cocktail bar with a long backlit back bar, deep teal seating and large painted artworks on the walls. The bar does not trade to the public; it opens only for the group that has booked it. Every package gives you the venue exclusively for four hours, with the events team and all staff included, and bookings start at 50 guests. The team works out which space and layout suits your numbers and the style of event. Wedding receptions, engagement parties, milestone birthdays, corporate events and brand launches are all on the list. For a smaller and more hands-on outing, the Saturday masterclass puts groups of up to 30 behind the bar for 90 minutes at $80 per person, with a gin and tonic or gin and ginger on arrival, a tasting flight of the house gins and two cocktails each guest shakes up themselves. Package A is $90 per person for a styled grazing table or four canapés with beer and wine. Package B is $120 per person for the grazing table plus three canapés, or seven canapés, with beer, wine and spirits. Package C is $150 per person for the grazing table plus six canapés, or ten canapés, with beer, wine, spirits and two cocktails. Canapés range from sushi, kingfish ceviche and prawn dishes to arancini, pies, gyoza and vegan pithivier, with dessert bites to finish. Cocktail upgrades can be added, including a gin welcome cocktail or a cocktail hour.
