About Mr McCracken
Mr McCracken is a bar, restaurant and function venue on Larkin Boulevard in Essendon Fields, run by executive chef and owner Matt Dawson. The kitchen works with ethically produced Australian produce, and the venue trades seven days from midday until late, so groups can book anything from a casual lunch to a full exclusive event. There are four areas to choose from. The Main Restaurant is a sleek dining room for 40 to 75 seated guests. The Main Bar suits cocktail parties of 50 to 120. The Bar Lounge, with high bars and lounge seating, takes 20 to 40 standing, and the bright, semi-private Front Bar holds 40 to 60 with a mix of high and low tables. An outdoor area with a custom fireplace is open all year, though it can't be reserved. For cocktail events there are three canapé packages: $52 per person for a two to four hour event, $63 with an extra substantial item, and $77.50 for longer four to six hour events with a premium bite and a sweet. Seated groups can choose a shared entrée, main and sides menu at $72 per person, or $84 with dessert, tea and coffee. Exclusive spaces carry a minimum spend that is met by food and drink, and a 20% deposit secures the date. Semi-exclusive events run for three hours and exclusive ones for four, with evening sessions between 6pm and 11pm. Parking at the neighbouring car parks can be validated at the venue.
