About Mitcham Hotel
The Mitcham Hotel is a pub on Maroondah Highway in Mitcham, with a family bistro, a sports bar with pool tables and a deck. It has direct access to Mitcham railway station and parking for more than 200 cars. Private parties head upstairs to the function room above the bistro, known as both The Loft and the Roof Top Room. Dark walls, a high ceiling and entertainment lighting set the tone, and the room has its own bar, bathrooms and entry. It holds 110 for cocktails, 80 cabaret style or 50 seated. A projector and screen, wireless microphone, Bluetooth connection and pool table are all in the room, and access is by stairs only. For a seated dinner without the whole room, Fireside offers semi-private dining in the upper area beside the bistro, with its own beer garden. Groups of 80 or more can hire the whole of Fireside. Social packages start at $1,400 for 40 to 50 guests, with $2,000 and $2,500 options for larger groups. A two course menu is $45 per person and three courses $50, for a minimum of 20 guests – send an enquiry to book.

Corporate options are a three hour package at $400 with tea, coffee and two platters, or $30 per person with a meal from the express menu. A tea and coffee station is $50, and a 10% surcharge applies on public holidays.
Food
The set menu serves two dishes per course on a 50/50 basis, with mains such as spiced snapper, chicken supreme, surf and turf and a pumpkin salad. Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options are marked on the menu.

How many guests can the upstairs room take?
The function room holds 110 guests cocktail style, 80 in a cabaret layout or 50 seated. Larger seated groups of 80 or more can look at booking out Fireside.
Is the function room accessible without stairs?
No – the room's entry point is by stairs only. Mention any access needs when you enquire so the team can suggest the right space.
What's in the social packages?
All three include five hours, room hire, security, bar staff and table linen. Social is $1,400 for 40 to 50 guests with four platters and a $200 bar tab, Celebration is $2,000 for around 70 guests with six platters and a $500 tab, and VIP is $2,500 for 100 guests with eight platters and an $850 tab.
Is extra security needed for a 21st?
Yes. Events over 100 guests, 21sts and functions with a DJ or live music need an additional guard at $300, and security can also be required at management's discretion.
Can the venue arrange a DJ or photo booth?
A DJ for five hours is $650 and a digital photo booth is $400. Balloon bouquets, a mesh backdrop, personalised signage and cake stands can also be added.
