Holmes Hall is a bar, eatery and events space at 15 Holmes Road, Moonee Ponds, built inside what was once a run-down supermarket. The venue seats around 300 across its rooms, pours 20 craft beers on tap alongside wine and cocktails, and serves pub classics. A function manager looks after private events and corporate bookings and puts together the food and drinks for each one. There are four areas to choose from. The Sunroom has the most room, suited to 60 to 150 guests, with high skylights, exposed brick, greenery, a neon sign, a stage area and giant bi-fold doors opening to the open-air beer garden. The Good Room is fully private, with its own bar and bartender, your own music, A/V, split-system heating and cooling, dimmable lights and a layout set to suit; it takes 60 to 80, and can extend into the Front Bar for up to 120. The Arbour is a 10-metre booth for 25 to 40 people, and the Front Bar holds 20 to 40 around a shuffleboard table with a dedicated bartender. Menus are built with the function manager to match the event and budget, with catering packages starting at $19 per person and grazing platters that can be out from the moment guests arrive. Drinks run on a bar tab: you choose the drinks and set a limit before the night, and it can be topped up during the event if needed. The Sunroom is put forward for weddings, engagements and milestone birthdays with larger numbers, while the smaller areas suit dinners and casual catch-ups.
