About Customs House Hotel Williamstown
Customs House Hotel has been pouring beers at 161 Nelson Place, Williamstown, since 1874. It sits in the Nelson Place dining strip across the road from Gem Pier and Commonwealth Reserve, and there is plenty of street parking nearby. Inside, dark timber, ornate fittings and a stained-glass ceiling dome give the pub its old-world character, and the hotel runs a dedicated functions team alongside its everyday bistro and bar trade. There are four function rooms, each of which can be booked exclusively. The Snug is the smallest, taking groups of 20 to 30. The Imperial seats up to 40 and holds 50 for drinks, and comes with a projector, screen, lectern, microphone and speakers. The Lighthouse seats up to 110 or takes 150 standing, with a stage, its own bar access and the same AV kit. Timbers, the main bar area, can also be taken over on request for bigger cocktail parties. Food runs off set menus: a two-course menu starts at $45 per person, with three-course and premium options above that, plus a seniors menu, and the kitchen marks vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices. For stand-up events there is a platter list of hot savouries, sliders, sandwiches, cheese and desserts priced by the platter. Drinks can be handled with a three-hour package of house wines, beers and soft drinks, a premium package with a wider list, a bar tab or a cash bar, and cocktails on arrival can be added. Each room carries either a minimum spend or a room hire fee.
