About Cross Keys Hotel
The Cross Keys Hotel is a pub on Pascoe Vale Road in Essendon, directly across the road from Strathmore station, with a bistro, a sports bar and a heated beer garden. It hosts birthdays, engagements, Christmas get-togethers, sporting club nights, corporate events and wakes across three function areas, with parking behind the hotel off Woodland Street. Upstairs, the Cross Room is a fully private room for 20 to 120 guests standing, with its own bar, a dance floor, a built-in DJ booth, a sound system you can plug a phone or laptop into, TV screens, a microphone and a balcony looking toward the city skyline. Next door, the Keys Room is the bigger space at 20 to 150 standing, with a bar, dance floor, DJ booth, built-in stage, projector and two private balconies; it also takes seated conferences of 40 to 80. Downstairs, the Terrace is a semi-private corner of the bistro with a fireplace, suited to seated lunches and reunions of 30 to 60, with no minimum spend. Food comes from the hotel kitchen as platters, priced per platter, covering party pies, arancini, gyoza, sushi, sliders and more, plus a grazing table for 50 guests at $650. Drinks run on a bar tab you set a limit for, with anything outside it bought by guests at the bar; BYO isn't allowed, though you can bring a cake. Friday to Sunday bookings carry a minimum spend that covers food and drinks, from $2,000 in the Cross Room on Fridays. Night events run from 7pm to 1am, and the hotel doesn't host 18th birthdays in the function rooms.
