About Bayswater Hotel
The Bayswater Hotel is a pub on Mountain Highway in Bayswater with a bistro, a bar pouring from 16 taps and a large beer garden. For private events it offers three areas that can be booked on their own or together. The Corner Bar is the most private of them, with a separate entrance and its own bar. It seats 70 or holds 80 standing, and joining it to the Courtyard lifts the total to 230. The Courtyard can also be booked by itself for up to 150 standing guests, who use the public bar for drinks. A section of the beer garden can be cornered off too, mixing casual seating with standing room. The Lounge suits smaller groups – a semi-private room for up to 40 cocktail style, with its own semi-private bar. It works well for birthdays and end-of-year catch-ups. Food comes as share platters or a set menu of two or three courses for seated events. Platter choices include arancini, mac and cheese croquettes, quiches, lamb pies, karaage chicken and pork belly bites, with vegan and gluten-free picks – send an enquiry to book.

Frequently asked questions
Which space suits a party of around 80?
The Corner Bar is the best fit, holding 80 standing or 70 seated. It has its own entrance and bar, so your group is separate from the rest of the pub.
Can the hotel host a larger event?
Yes. Joining the Corner Bar and the Courtyard gives room for up to 230 guests, and the Courtyard alone takes 150 standing.
Is the Lounge fully private?
The Lounge is semi-private, tucked away with its own semi-private bar. It takes up to 40 guests cocktail style and suits birthdays and smaller get-togethers.
What food can we order?
You can choose share platters for a standing event or a set menu for seated events. The set menu comes as two courses (entree and main, or main and dessert) or three, served alternately, with a minimum guest number.
Can we see the spaces before booking?
The functions team welcomes appointments to view the rooms and talk through options. Send an enquiry to arrange a time.

My client loves coming to the Sports Bar to play pool twice weekly. We enjoy the calm atmosphere and the staff are really welcoming. Archie has been particularly friendly and is always patient and helpful 🙂

We had the prawn dunplings for entree, lamb shoulder for mains and the black first cake for dessert. The prawn dumplings tasted really good and was full of flavour just the the amount of ginger through it, so fresh!!…
