About Bakery Hill Distillery
Bakery Hill Distillery makes single malt whisky and gin at 411 Macaulay Road in Kensington. The site sits between Kensington and Macaulay stations, and a bus stop is right out the front. The building covers around 500 square metres. The front half is the bar and lounge, with exposed brick, a long communal table and barrels to gather around, all looking onto the still. The back half holds the brewing area and the barrel store. The front of house takes up to 75 guests standing, with seats for around 30. Smaller groups of 10 to 25 can reserve a dedicated section while the bar stays open, and larger parties can take the whole distillery from midday until 11pm. Food is optional and is ordered separately from the bar spend. The team can put on a charcuterie grazing table or heartier platters of sandwiches, wraps and rolls, or you can arrange your own catering. The bar pours the house whiskies and gin along with local craft beer, wine and cocktails. Bottles can be bought on the night to take home, and tastings or a guided tour of the production floor can be added. Exclusive hire comes with a Bluetooth speaker system and microphone, use of a screen and projector, and freedom to bring free-standing decorations. Because it is a working distillery, some dates are blocked out around production, so send an enquiry to book.
