About Abbots Yard
Abbots Yard is an open-air beer garden built from reclaimed shipping containers on Victoria Street in Abbotsford. String lights, fire pits and shade sails cover the yard, and it trades in all weather. For events the venue offers several distinct areas. The main garden takes bookings of 100 to 200 people, and the whole yard can be hired exclusively for groups of up to 500. Smaller groups have their own rooms to choose from. The container booths hold 30 to 60, while two retro cinema rooms and the shuffleboard rooms are private spaces for 10 to 20 guests each. Games are part of the appeal, with pool, table tennis, shuffleboard, darts, jenga and a console on hand. Live DJs and music play across the yard on many nights, and dogs are welcome. The kitchen keeps food simple with wood-fired pizza and share plates, and in-house catering is available for functions. The bar pours a rotating list of local beers, plus wine and cocktails. Birthdays, work parties and engagements are all regular bookings, from a semi-private section to a full takeover.
