About Rooftop Bar @ The Cornish Arms
The Cornish Arms is a long-running pub on the main road through Brunswick, with a bistro and covered courtyard downstairs and a rooftop bar on top. The kitchen is known for running a full vegan menu alongside its regular one, so a group with mixed diets can all eat properly, and every beer on tap is vegan too. The rooftop is the pub's party space. It is fully enclosed when the weather turns, with a retractable roof and heaters, and looks out over the city skyline on clear evenings. At night the venue sets aside the street end of the rooftop for stand-up groups of roughly 65 to 75 people, while the rest of the bar keeps trading. On weekday daytimes the whole roof can be booked exclusively for up to 150 standing or 80 seated, and exclusive use at other times can be arranged by agreeing a minimum spend. Downstairs, the covered courtyard seats around 50 for daytime groups. The pub notes it has no dedicated function room, so these bookings sit within the working bar. There is no room hire fee. Instead, groups commit to a food spend, set at $25 per person for regular bookings and $45 per person on key December dates. The functions menu runs on sharing platters and wood-fired pizzas, and drinks are usually run on a tab paid when the event wraps up. Bookings are held with a credit card pre-authorisation rather than a deposit, final numbers are due a week out, and Sunday and public holiday surcharges apply.

Is there a room hire fee or a minimum spend?
There is no room hire fee. Groups commit to a food spend of $25 per person, which rises to $45 per person on key dates in December. Sundays attract a 10% surcharge and public holidays 15%.
