About Greythorn Bowling Club
Greythorn Bowling Club has been part of the Manningham community for more than six decades, and it sits on a quiet court in Doncaster. Its two synthetic greens mean bowls can be played in any season, and the clubhouse behind them is air-conditioned, with a bar, a pool table and a dartboard. Members play pennant and weekly social games, but the club makes a point of welcoming visitors and people who have never held a bowl before. For casual groups, Friday evening barefoot bowls runs through the warmer part of the year from about 5:30pm, with the bar open and snacks or a BBQ menu available. The club offers junior bowls, a ramp onto the greens and bowling arms for players with limited mobility, so mixed-age family groups can all have a go. Friday nights often carry live music too, and Thursday evenings bring an open mic night with free entry. The function room is the main option for a private event. It is a bright indoor space with a flexible layout that suits birthdays, engagements and anniversaries, family reunions, Christmas parties, club presentations and corporate meetings. Hirers get a fully licensed bar, tables and seating arranged to suit, AV equipment for speeches and presentations, and access to the kitchen, so you can do the food yourselves or bring in an outside caterer. Green access can be added on request if guests want to try barefoot bowls during the event, and the venue has wheelchair-accessible entry, change tables, playpens and easy parking. Rates are quoted on enquiry, and the club asks for a day or two to reply.
