About Iron Gate Estate

Iron Gate Estate is a boutique winery at 178 Oakey Creek Road, Pokolbin, built to look like a corner of southern Spain, with terracotta roof tiles, rendered walls and the wrought-iron gates that give it its name. Its restaurant, Iron Gate Kitchen, cooks Iberian-inspired food over wood and coals, and the estate pours its own wines alongside a few international labels. All of the event spaces are fully accessible. There are several ways to book it. The Fénix Room sits beside the kitchen with one long table under a big arched window and suits up to 22 guests. The Main Dining Room, with its curved brick ceiling and arches opening to the terrace and vineyard, takes up to 28 guests as a group booking within the restaurant, or 28 to 50 when you hire it exclusively. The Cellar Door, with a marble-topped bar, fireplace and indoor and outdoor seating, can be hired for 40 to 60 guests for early-evening drinks and pintxos. For larger celebrations the Estate package gives exclusive use of everything, including the terrace, courtyards and the private Villa, for up to 100 guests. The Gate Keeper's Menu is a shared feast of bread, croquettes, mains to share, sides and Basque cheesecake at $95 per person. Estate packages run from $185 to $250 per person and include five hours of estate wines and beers, with canapés on the terrace, a charcuterie station in the Cellar Door and either roving food or a seated dinner. Music plays through the in-house Sonos system; microphones and screens can be arranged at extra cost. Bookings are confirmed with a deposit and signed contract through the events team.
