About Brokenwood Wines
Brokenwood Wines is on McDonalds Road in Pokolbin, and its modern cellar door building doubles as a flexible event venue. Alongside tastings and the estate's wines, it has The Wood Restaurant, a terrace wine bar and a set of rooms that the events team books for private dinners, client functions, conferences and team days. The largest seated space is Cru Bar and Pantry, an open, light-filled room with a fireplace and an adjoining deck, seating up to 120 with furniture moved to suit. The Wood Restaurant takes 50 seated in an earthy dining room that opens onto a leafy deck. For smaller groups, the Halliday and Beeston private dining rooms sit above the working barrel hall and the wine museum, and can be opened up or closed off for 12 to 24 guests. The semi-covered outdoor terrace holds 120 standing with wide views over the Hunter and room for live music, while the cellar door itself, with bi-fold doors to the terrace, suits 64 standing and can run seated tastings in its round tasting pods. Food comes from The Wood Restaurant, where the kitchen cooks over fire with local, seasonal produce and offers both a la carte and a chef's choice menu; event groups have enjoyed banquet-style meals. The team builds wine experiences into events, from guided tastings to winery tours and progressive wine bar sessions, and works with each group on the format. Enquiries go through the online event form or the events team.
