Ben Ean sits at 119 McDonalds Road, Pokolbin, on a heritage-listed estate that began life in 1852 as Lindeman's Ben Ean and is now run by the McGuigan and Peterson families. Alongside its cellar door, patisserie, deli and restaurant, the property spreads over more than 200 acres of vineyard with views to the Brokenback Range, and it runs a dedicated events team for private functions, corporate events and weddings. There are two main rooms. The heritage-listed Courtyard has a wall of wine barrels, festoon lighting, green walls and a retractable roof, and holds up to 300 guests seated or 450 standing. Across the hall, the Stevens Laraghy Room is a more contemporary space with tall triangular windows and its own balcony over the Garden Terrace, taking up to 110 seated or 150 for a cocktail party. The outdoor Garden Terrace is used for drinks and canapés before guests move inside, and there are lawns for games. Food is prepared by the team behind Restaurant Baumé. Private event packages start at $80 per person for canapés and roving entrées with four and a half hours of venue hire, rise to $90 per person for a buffet and $110 per person for a seated dinner with shared or alternate entrées and mains, and all include staff, set-up and pack-down. Add-ons include a grazing board, dessert bar, gelato cart and lawn games, and a beverage package is available for $85 per person. Corporate groups can book conference days, and there are set Christmas party packages each year. Enquiries go through the events team by phone or the online form.
