About The Toxteth

The Toxteth, known to locals as The Tocky, is a heritage pub over two floors at 345 Glebe Point Road in Glebe, around ten minutes from the CBD. The ground floor is a relaxed neighbourhood bar, while upstairs is lighter and dressier, and the pub runs a dedicated events team for private functions of 10 guests or more. There are four spaces. The Fireplace Lounge has brass, leather and timber fit-out around a large marble fireplace and takes 40 seated or 60 standing. Tocky Terrace upstairs has a big private bar, its own bathrooms and views to the city skyline, for 40 seated or up to 75 standing. Birdies Bar, the indoor upstairs room, fits 60 seated or 125 standing. The Courtyard has a retractable roof and heaters for winter, and holds 80 seated or 200 for a cocktail party; dogs are welcome out there. Food comes from the pub kitchen. Canapé packages run from $40 to $60 per person, grazing stations are $35 or $60 per person, and a shared banquet is $75 per person. Drinks can be a standard or premium package for two or three hours, or a prepaid bar tab you can tailor. Minimum spends apply, packages are paid in full to confirm, bookings need 48 hours' notice, and the venue has its own AV and a private entrance.

Grazing stations are $35 per person (antipasto) or $60 per person (antipasto with hot items). Canapé packages are $40, $50 or $60 per person. The shared banquet is $75 per person and bottomless brunch with two hours of drinks is $85 per person. Standard drinks packages are $45 for two hours or $65 for three; premium packages are $60 or $85. Minimum spends apply and are quoted on enquiry; packages are paid in full to confirm.

Food

Canapé packages mix small bites such as arancini, empanadas, croquettes and salmon blinis with larger items such as sliders, pies, gnocchi and fish and chips. Grazing stations offer cured meats, cheeses, focaccia and fruit, with an upgrade that adds wings, sliders and mozzarella sticks. The banquet is served to share down the table, and sushi trays can be added for groups of 20 or more. The kitchen can't cater for individual dietary needs within a package, so choose items that cover your group.

Beverages

Standard and premium drinks packages run for two or three hours and cover sparkling, white and red wine, tap beer, cider and soft drinks. Cocktails and an espresso martini can be added. Prepaid bar tabs can include anything on the bar, or just the drinks you nominate. Tocky Terrace and Birdies Bar each have their own private bar.

How many guests can The Toxteth hold?

It depends on the space. The Fireplace Lounge takes 40 seated or 60 standing, Tocky Terrace 40 seated or 75 standing, Birdies Bar 60 seated or 125 standing, and The Courtyard 80 seated or 200 for a cocktail event.

What do function packages cost?

Grazing stations are $35 or $60 per person, canapé packages are $40, $50 or $60 per person depending on how many pieces, and the shared banquet is $75 per person. A sushi tray of 60 pieces is $300 for groups of at least 20.

What drinks options are there?

The standard drinks package is $45 per person for two hours or $65 for three; the premium package is $60 for two hours or $85 for three. You can also set up a prepaid bar tab covering beer, wine, spirits and cocktails, or limit it to the drinks you choose.

Is there a minimum spend or deposit?

Minimum spends apply to function bookings and are quoted by the events team. Food and drinks packages have to be paid in full to lock in the booking, and all functions need at least 48 hours' notice with a minimum of 10 guests.

Can we decorate the space, and are dogs allowed?

Yes, you can style the room for your event, and the team will explain any limits that come with the heritage building. The Courtyard is dog-friendly, so let the team know ahead of time if a dog is coming.
