About The Pavilion @ Camperdown Commons

Camperdown Commons is a restaurant, bar and community hub at 31A Mallett Street in Camperdown, set around Pocket City Farms, an urban farm, with tennis courts on site. Alongside its everyday dining room and outdoor Yard, it hires out dedicated event spaces, and the Pavilion is the largest single one for parties. Parking is available on site and public transport is close by. The Pavilion is an undercover timber structure that opens onto the farm, with roll-down café blinds to keep the weather out, heaters and ceiling fans. It takes up to 100 guests standing or 80 seated, and can be set with long banquet tables or left open for canapés and drinks. Hire includes tables and chairs, handheld microphones, a portable stage, a jack for playing music and access to a projector. The paved 130 square metre courtyard can be added for spill-over space, and booking the Pavilion together with the Sun Room and courtyard allows up to 260 standing or 140 seated. Food is served from the Commons' event menus. The party food package brings roaming canapés in three to six choices, and there are fire-cooked BBQ buffets, share-plate banquets, grazing tables, platters and dessert stations. Drinks are organised through house or deluxe beverage packages of two and a half or three hours, with a spritz station and arrival cocktails as extras. A 5% surcharge applies on weekends. The venue hosts birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas parties, small weddings and receptions, baby and bridal showers, and corporate events, and can add farm workshops or tennis for team days.

The party food package of roaming canapés costs $32 per person for three options, $40 for four, $48 for five and $55 for six, with a minimum of 20 people. The BBQ buffet is $40 per adult, share-plate banquets are $82 per person, and grazing tables run at $28 or $42 per person for 30 or more. Beverage packages start at $69 per person. A 5% surcharge applies on weekends. Venue hire rates are quoted on enquiry.

Food

Menus centre on seasonal produce. Choose roaming canapés such as arancini, oysters, sliders, gyoza and skewers; a BBQ buffet cooked over fire with salads and sides; a share-plate banquet of lamb backstrap, barramundi and salads with mini desserts; grazing tables; or platters for groups up to 30. Dessert boards and an ice-cream cone station can be added. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free choices are marked.

Beverages

The house package covers beer, sparkling, a choice of white, rosé and red wine, soft drinks and water at $69 per person for two and a half hours or $79 for three. The deluxe package adds cider and house spirits at $79 or $89 per person. A spritz station is $16 a serve with a minimum of 24, and an arrival spritz or mocktail can be added for $13 per person.

What a nice place! So well laid out amongst its own garden and 'pocket' farm. Very kid friendly but large and open enough that you don't feel disrupted by screaming kids. Burgers were good but keen to try their pizza.
