About The Lawns of Double Bay
The Lawns of Double Bay is the function centre attached to Double Bay Bowling Club on Kiaora Road, a club whose history goes back to the 1940s. The contemporary clubhouse is run as an events space, and it takes bookings from the public for parties, weddings and work functions. Inside is a single open-plan room with a clean, neutral finish, a full bar and a commercial kitchen, and it opens onto both indoor and outdoor areas. The standout is a covered, heated balcony that looks straight over the bowling greens and can be used year round. The venue quotes up to 200 people for corporate events and up to 170 for private celebrations, whether that's a cocktail party, a seated dinner or a theatre-style presentation. Birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, bar and bat mitzvahs, Friday night dinners, Christmas parties, product launches and fundraisers are all on the list, and corporate groups can add a round of barefoot bowls. Catering comes from June Edelmuth Catering, the in-house partner, whose kitchen sits on site. There are five base packages: cocktail canapés over 2.5 hours, casual seating with grazing over 3 hours, a formal seated buffet or shared-table dinner over 4 hours, and a 3-hour brunch buffet. Each includes the food, venue hire, a standard drinks package of beer, wine, sparkling and soft drinks, furniture and tableware, a microphone and sound system, bar and service staff and basic cleaning. A premium drinks upgrade, spirits on consumption or a full consumption bar can be arranged. Music finishes by 10.30pm, with guests leaving by 11pm.

How late can an event run?
Council noise rules mean music ends by 10.30pm and guests leave by 11pm unless otherwise approved. Extra time beyond your quoted hours attracts staffing and venue hire charges.
